Happy Zombie Jesus Day!!!

Sun, Mar. 23rd, 2008 04:11 pm (UTC)

My family has a weird tradition of getting together with some Jewish family friends every Easter (we go to their place on Passover). Last year, the husband/father of the family, who was raised Christian, said that, "Easter is the day when Jesus comes out of the cave, and if he sees his shadow, we've got six more weeks of Christmas!"

Best definition I've heard yet.

Today he told us he was trying to explain Easter to his wife (she's the really Jewish one) and he said he didn't know what the rabbit and the eggs had to do with it, but he did know why the rabbit was hiding the eggs... because he didn't want anyone to know he was screwing a chicken.

Every year for Passover, his wife has a big dinner and they invite a bunch of friends. We always take turns reading the story (which takes more or less all evening, with a couple breaks for eating), and he sits there making random comments the whole time. Also, he always throws the hardboiled eggs across the table to each person.
